Margaret Jacobs, Principal, AIA, CID
Ms. Jacobs began practicing Architecture in 1981, becoming Principal at Tate Hill Jacobs Architects in 1993. She distinguishes herself as a principal who is genuinely passionate about architecture and historic preservation.
Margaret has completed numerous comprehensive renovation, adaptive reuse, and selective materials preservation projects of historic buildings. Her many years of service on the Historic Preservation Review Board and her time as a member of Preservation Kentucky’s Board of Directors provides her with a clear understanding in the differences between renovation, restoration, preservation, adaptive reuse, and rehabilitation. These terms are often used interchangeably without regard for exacting differences in their meaning.
Ms. Jacobs also has extensive experience leading design teams in both 30-year renovations and new construction of K-12 schools across the Commonwealth. Whatever the project, Margaret excels in an ability to unite large numbers of stakeholders while maintaining a keen focus on the client’s design goals and program requirements. Her familiarity with Kentucky contractors and suppliers and her knowledge of construction practices serve the client well during all phases of a project.
Margaret takes a hands-on approach throughout all phases of design, believing this is the secret ingredient to the recipe for success which has become a trademark of Tate Hill Jacobs Architects.
