Fayette County Public Schools | Lexington, KY
This all new 72,000 SF school was designed for a K-5 population of approximately 650 students. This was the first Fayette County Public School project to incorporate sustainable design elements , including natural daylighting, automatic dimming systems, clerestories and passive solar, and conservation of energy use, present and future through the use of geo-thermal HVAC systems. Integration of site and building orientation were key design strategies from the very first conversation. This was the district’s first school to be awarded Energy Star for its low energy usage.
