Katrina Littrell

Katrina Littrell, Principal, AIA

Ms. Littrell became Principal at Tate Hill Jacobs Architects in January 2020 after serving as a senior associate. While an undergraduate student at the UK College of Design, Katrina cut her teeth in architecture working as an intern at Tate Hill Jacobs. Upon graduation, she received the AIA Henry Adams medal for academic excellence, after which she attended the University of Pennsylvania to obtain her Masters in Architecture.

Kentucky called her home and she came back to begin a career as an architect in Lexington, focusing primarily on school design. Fast forward almost 20 years, and Katrina returns to Tate Hill Jacobs, bringing a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to her new role as a firm principal.

We’re delighted Katrina was brave enough to join us again after her early days as an intern where she spent time hand coloring drawings so big they didn’t fit into the car and was sent off with an artist’s paintbrush to touch up small chips in glazed tile – throughout the hallways of an ENTIRE school building. If this didn’t scare her off, we’re confident she’s prepared to face any challenge this new leadership position throws her way.

Since returning to Tate Hill Jacobs, Katrina has enjoyed expanding a collaborative relationship with Fayette County Public Schools and Jessamine County Schools. She finds influencing and effecting students’ learning experiences through thoughtful and intelligent design to be incredibly rewarding. Adept at organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, Katrina strives to complete all projects with clarity, precision, and care. She has experience implementing projects from conceptual design and programming all the way through construction administration and project completion.

We’re thrilled to have Katrina back where she can continue the legacy of providing innovative, award-winning design and unparalleled service at one of Kentucky’s oldest women-owned architecture firms.
