Breathitt County Schools | Jackson, KY
This school is scheduled to open in August 2023. Designed in collaboration with district representatives, teachers, and staff, this new school is divided into two separate Small Learning Communities with designated areas for collaborative learning and teacher professional development. Also included is a gymnasium, tornado shelter, fenced green space, playgrounds, and auditorium envisioned to serve the entire district. Every classroom has ample windows for natural lighting. Clerestory windows and daylighting tubes provide lighting from above for the corridors, lessening the need for energy required for artificial lighting.
